Synqed vs Bounce Connect
The closest thing to a like-for-like competitor: Android on your Mac, over your own Wi-Fi, with nothing passing through a server. Here is where the two differ, and where Bounce Connect is ahead.
The short version
These are the same product for the same person. Both mirror calls, messages, notifications, clipboard and files between an Android phone and a Mac. Both encrypt with AES-256-GCM over your local network and both say plainly that nothing passes through external servers. If you are choosing between them, you are not choosing between two different ideas.
Bounce Connect is the shipping product. It costs $15.99 once, it is available to buy today, and it supports Android 8.0 and up.
Synqed is newer. The Mac app is signed, notarised and free to download today. The Android app is in closed testing, so joining means filling in a form and waiting rather than installing, and it needs Android 13 or later. When it ships it will be $14.99, paid once. The Mac app stays free.

Where Bounce Connect is ahead
- You can buy it today.Synqed's Android side is in closed testing and admits people by hand. That is a real difference, and no feature list changes it.
- It reaches more phones.Android 8.0 against Synqed's Android 13 or later, which rules out several years of devices.
- WhatsApp calls. Synqed handles cellular calls only.
- Link sharing between devices,which Synqed doesn't have at all.
- It has been shipping longer, to paying customers.
Where Synqed is different
The two prices are within a dollar of each other, so price is not the thing to decide on. What differs is where each app spent its effort.
- The notch is the call UI. An incoming call grows out of the notch and answers there, rather than arriving as a notification about a call.
- Notifications are managed, not just mirrored.Named Do Not Disturb profiles, a mute list over your whole installed app catalogue, seven days of history you can search, and a daily digest of what you missed — written on your Mac by Apple's own on-device model, so nothing leaves the machine.
- The phone's state lives in the menu bar. Battery, signal, storage and media playback, updated as they change.
What neither of them does
Neither app routes call audio to your Mac, and neither works when the two devices are on different networks, because neither runs a relay server. That trade is the same in both: no cloud also means no fallback. Synqed's side of it is written up on how it works, and the privacy policy lists every permission and why it is asked for.
